Recently, Don was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. The doctors suspected the cancer had spread to his brain and other areas of his body, but they needed to run a few more tests to be certain. Taking the news in stride, Don decided in the mean time to go home and see if he could apply his years of study and research and change the devastating diagnosis he had just been given. That night, Don created mind tapes to listen to throughout the night, in which he repeatedly told himself affirmations of good health.

Soon after, tests revealed that the cancer had not spread to other parts of his body and had stayed in the lungs, which made it possibly curable. “Now, I had a direction to work on. I knew I could make this work.” Don says. As Don began his medical treatment, he continued to use personal and professional development material to help him in his fight against cancer. Other miracles soon unfolded. “When I first went to chemo, I was on oxygen. Now, I am no longer on oxygen. Yesterday, a CAT Scan shows that the cancer has been reduced significantly.”

Don truly believes that positive thinking and the application of principles he learned through many mentors and books have helped him immeasurably during this difficult time. True to the spirit of goal setting, Don’s Christmas gift to himself is to be cancer free by December 25th.

Optimistic and caring, Don spends no time complaining or thinking about his medical challenges. In fact, his thoughts are constantly on ways in which he can help others. Don shares, “Everyone has a different idea of prosperity. My idea of prosperity is, how many people can I help? Real prosperity is health and helping other people. For me, helping people is number one.”
